Sounds like a Christianized, preacheresque title for “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”, right? That was the intention. I didn’t want anyone other than my wife thinking I was calling her “Baby”. The truth is for this part of South Carolina that it is colder than we are used to for this time of year. I know you who live in a colder climate are laughing at me. Go ahead! It’s justifiable😀.
As I sit here in a warm house, I am loving the fact that I have a place to have shelter from the cold. I began to meditate on this on a spiritual level. “God is our refuge and strength” (Psalm 46:1). I want to let the Scripture in this post speak for itself. Read these verses and worship the Lord our Shelter.
“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’” Deuteronomy 33:27 NIV
“But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.” Psalm 5:11 NIV
“In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues.” Psalm 31:20 NIV
“I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.” Psalm 55:8 NIV
“For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.” Psalms 61:3 NKJV
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1 NIV
