Getting Lost in Translation

It’s funny how things get lost in translation. Whether it’s re-interpreted around the gossip circle or someone misinterprets the meaning of the word “hearing”, this kind of miscommunication happens frequently. What is the problem? We hear, but we don’t listen. Listening involves us giving our attention to what we hear.

Our biggest problem is that we are so busy coming up with what we are going to say that we fail to listen. We do not need to always respond verbally. Many conflicts could be avoided if we just took time to really listen and understand someone’s point of view. So the next time someone shares his or her heart with you, be swift to hear and slow to speak. The result could spare Robert from major indictment๐Ÿ˜‚.

  1. Amen! Yes!!! God revealed to me yesterday about a comment I made a couple months ago that I still wasn’t satisfied with how everything went down. The blogger got very confused about my answer which led to defensiveness and hurt feelings. God finally gave me a peace and an understanding to take from the experience. Sometimes how we respond to a blogger, on THEIR blog, is better to be said on our blog. Even when we have the best of intentions and mean no harm. I have a HUGE post coming out on Thursday and I’ve been seeking His wisdom because I don’t want anyone to misunderstand.

      1. Thank you. I’ve been asking for God to equip me with His words. To give you an idea my post title will be “Hell’s Purpose.” To explore and point to the truth of why Hell exists.

      2. You may want to consider Isaiah 5:14. I heard a message about how hell was enlarged because it was only meant for the devil and demons but had to expand due to the many who have rejected Christ. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). God never intended to send anyone there. It is our choice. This is definitely a subject that needs to prayed over.

      3. Yes, exactly ๐Ÿ™‚ the direction God has led me to go is cover sin. We think of Hell as evil, which it is, but sin is death. Sin is evil. It is consuming. We have a choice. I have been contemplating for months a post talking about Free Will and I know some people don’t believe in it. But this is a topic I feel not to be debated, but one that is crucial in a relationship with Christ. It feels like God wants me to cover the post about Hell first, and then later do a post about Free Will. Last night, as I talked to Him, He was giving me so many things I had to write down so I wouldn’t forget.

When we choose sin…we choose death, and that’s what Hell is it is ultimate death. I plan to look over the scriptures about hell, but more so about sin and such. Thank you for the extra prayers ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I find the statement “trying to push him over backwards” funnier HAHAHAHA. This joke has a lesson tho which I’ll make sure I’ll remember before praying for someone hahaha.
