Confessions of a Binge Blogger

I have noticed something about my blogging patterns. I binge. Before you plan to find a recovery group for me, please hear me out. I would very much like to be like those who schedule their blog posts or blog daily, but I have to “strike while the iron is hot” and write when the ideas hit me. Sometimes that means that I write multiple posts in one day.

There is another side to my binge blogging. I also binge read. Some days are devoted to reading, liking, and commenting on the blogs of others. I may press on your link, and you will discover that I have liked and commented on several of your posts at once. I would typically preach about doing things in moderation, but I don’t think I am violating any biblical principle here unless my blogging becomes a personal idol.

Am I alone here, or does anyone else relate? I would love to read from someone who relates to my binging. Please๐Ÿ˜€.

  1. lol, rather than binging… don’t you think it to be therapeutic? I like reading from other peoples blogs lol. I think it’s safe to say that you’re normal my friend. lol ๐Ÿ˜€ – Sherline

  2. Hehe, Binge blogging! I love it! I agree I write when the Lord brings it to me. I am so surprised how much I wrote in just one month. Plus how much my writing skills have improved! Well ok, thanks, Grammarly! My little secret and reading my blogs to my husband before I post them. But it is getting better! Matthew, I so appreciate your comments and likes. You have been the only one to comment, well other than a good friend of mine. I am only a month in and am surprised by the subscribers and followers! God pulled me back from Life Church and gave me one word. Blog! And the blog I did! I love your writings. It sounds like the type of church I would fit in.

  3. Even though I post only once a day, I do binge write and then schedule the posts. Makes me seem much more disciplined than I really am. lol I also binge read when I get time. So yeah, I can definitely relate with you!

  4. LOL! I’m a binge blogger, too. And a binge reader. I have learned that we can schedule our posts, so if I write five in one day, I don’t have to post them all at once. This gives the illusion of being a consistent blogger, but it’s only an illusion. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I am the opposite of binging, I think? Everyday I write at least one blog post, sometimes two. There are times when I write three-five entries in a single day, but save them for later posting (also gives me time to have a break from writing).

  6. Youโ€™re not on your own, Matt but I do love the fact that we all encourage and point each other to Christ. Blogging has definitely been a positive experience for me. I think thereโ€™s worse things to binge on lol ๐Ÿ˜‚

  7. I will admit that I… have not been binge blogging like I would like you. ๐Ÿ™‚ There’s nothing wrong with doing what you are doing and your blogging habits. It’s awesome to just write what’s in your heart and whatever God lays on your spirit to do. Thank you for sharing with us by the way. ๐Ÿ™‚
