Have you ever been speechless? You are in a situation, and you have no idea what to say? Sometimes it is best to say nothing, but there are also times when you have the assignment to give someone advice. Your counsel could make or break the situation.
I am often in situations when I feel that I do not have the words. What do I say to someone who has lost a child or someone who is distraught because their teenage daughter is pregnant? I pray, and God takes care of the rest.
You may be avoiding something right now because you don’t know what to say. As God promised to fill the mouths of his spokesmen of old, He will do the same for you. Here is what God told the prophet Jeremiah when God called Him:
“Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Then said I: “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” But the LORD said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the LORD. Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.” Jeremiah 1:4-9 NKJV
I’ll close with a song that I find appropriate for this.
