Four days ago, I posted about how heavy it is upon my heart to be able to help churches and pastors without money being an issue. God immediately tested my sincerity. Here’s how.
I was reaching out to a pastor the next day as I do on the weekdays. I expressed to him that I would love to help him in any way possible. Oh me of little faith! I expected to get a “thanks” in return and not hear anything from him. The response was an invitation to preach for him. I thought that something would work out for me to stay with some family, but everything fell through. I was almost about to cancel because the distance would require lodging and various travel expenses that I could not afford. Today, God provided the means to make it happen. I told my wife that I almost failed the test.
Be prepared, because God wants to see if you are a man or woman of your word. I said often through the 20 months I pastored the church I planted that “God pays for what He orders.” It’s the truth! God opened a door to see if I would just trust Him. He paid for what He ordered.
I can’t wait to see what opportunities are to follow. I just know that whatever it is, God will bless and do beyond what I can imagine. I’ll close with the words of Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit: “Faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it” (I Thessalonians 5:24).
