Anyone on Pinterest?

I never thought I would consider Pinterest, but I have heard and read some great reviews about it. I didn’t even realize my wife set up my account in July, but I am matthewwinters1980. Please follow or leave a comment here about your Pinterest experience. My curiosity is up. Thanks!

  1. I hear pinterest is effective in promoting ideas and reaching audiences, but I tend to think of it as a source of fancy recipes (mint blueberry salads, etc…) or a place for selfies to be stacked up without discretion. My knowledge of it is only in theory. God bless your endeavors!

  2. I have a Pinterest page for the blog, Boomerang through Love and it’s very helpful at times. I will definitely follow you. God bless your wife for creating a page for you.

  3. Hello Matthew,

Good morning! Iโ€™m curious, what do you want it for?

As for me, I use Pinterest mostly for inspiration. Like for example quotes on leaderhip, illustrations relating to any area of interest – parenting, crochet, Human Resources, house design, quotable quotes on life, cooking (as mentioned by @sullivanspin), gardening, wedding, etc., name it, everything is there. I have boards that I either use for sharing or an inspiration that I will either copy (like in the case of crochet instructions) or grow on (like in the case of parenting). I always credit the account/person properly. ๐Ÿ™‚ When I see something really good, I share them on FB, too.

You can create virtual โ€œboardsโ€ there and โ€œpinโ€ whatever you would like to keep, for future use or for any other reason.

My friends have encouraged me to take my blogging to a whole new level by also posting pictures with key points of my articles + name of my blog in my pinterest account, so I can get more views and greater exposure.

I will use pinterest for both my blogs once I get myself a new laptop (old one is dated and crawl slow so I use my phone for everything currently).

Bit of a long comment here, anyway, I hope that shed even just a hint of light.

      1. I think I found you, or the one your wife created on Pinterest. – https://pin.it/vlfhhgqqb5hqcy

        Is that you?

Out of curiosity, I tried sooner than expected. Create a โ€œPinโ€ add title, description and link to article/blog and choose which board to save it to. Would be good to match name of Pinterest account to Blog name for consistency but up to you really since it leads to the blog anyway when visitors click on the link.

  4. I have Pinterest, however I mainly just use it for craft ideas, recipes, and painting. Iโ€™ve never considered pining a link to my blog, however that may not be a bad idea. Ministry opportunities can come out of anything. Good luck to you!

  5. I too use Pinterest for inspiration, ideas, and the like. I used some on my post(s), sometimes it’s just the right touch to finish a piece you’ve written and express the meaning you want to convey.
Or you can just explore the possibilities of the many entries, or even create your own. I’ve yet to use that feature myself. Have fun exploring your own unique style and using it as an inspirational tool. Blessings always.

  6. I use Pinterest to share the individual memes/picture quotes I’ve created for my blog micah68life. Been there for about a year with some small success…still trying to figure out this whole social media environment…

  7. I use Pinterest to share my posts and try to have boards that appeal to my audience. God quotes and inspiration, a board for prayer, a board for Bible Study, likewise.

Here is mine and I’ll look up your account. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you are interest in using Pinterest for your blog I’ve written this post on my second blog for bloggers.

  8. I personally love Pinterest. It’s a great place to find inspiration, and I’m not just talking “fancy recipes.” My mother uses it to find inspiration for home improvements (she flips houses) and my father uses it to find new ideas for woodworking. There’s something for everyone on Pinterest.
